Do the QRA Acupuncture™ Pins hurt & is it safe?

QRA Acupuncture™ pins are hair-thin. In fact, they are thinner than a Cat’s Whiskers. You will usually feel a little sting when the pins are inserted.

After the insertion of the QRA Acupuncture™ pins, you will feel a very unique sensation. Each person may experience different sensations, but the most common sensations: heaviness, tingling, numbness, aching, soreness, warmth, or nothing at all.

Should you experience any discomfort, inform the Acupuncturist and they will adjust the pins accordingly. When performed by a trained licensed professional, QRA Acupuncture™ is extremely safe. Only sterile and disposable pins are used here at Achieve Integrative Health

How many treatments will it take? And how frequent are the treatments?

The number of treatments that is required varies based on the type of disorder, length of disorder, and each person’s rate of response to QRA Acupuncture™. In general, acute disorders may require 3-6 treatments to observe effects. For chronic disorders, 10-12 treatments may be required to observe effects. The basic principle is, if it didn’t occur overnight, it will not go away overnight.

How do I prepare for my QRA Acupuncture™ Treatments?

Please wear loose clothing where you can roll up your sleeves to your elbows and pants up to your knees and make sure you have eaten a light meal or snack prior to arriving for your treatments. Please DO NOT wear perfume or cologne, or strong smelling lotions, as some of our patients have severe allergies and strong smells can trigger an allergy attack and impede their treatments.

Why do I still need to come in for an Initial Exam?

We are a unique QRA Acupuncture™ & wellness clinic in that we differ from the majority of other acupuncture clinics in the way we provide our QRA Acupuncture™ treatments. Our advanced QRA Acupuncture™ technique, Quick Restorative Acupuncture (QRA)™ Technique, produces faster results with the majority of our patients receiving pain & symptom relief within seconds after the insertion of the QRA Acupuncture™ pins.

However, our treatments may not be suitable for everybody. The purpose of the Initial Exam is to establish your health goals and determine if our clinic can really help you achieve those goals. If we find that we can help you, then together we will decide which one of our programs is the best approach for you. If we find that we can not help you, then we will refer you to someone who may be able to help you.

Does Insurance cover QRA Acupuncture™ treatments?

Short Answer is Yes.

While some insurance companies do cover QRA Acupuncture™ treatments, it is essential to note that the primary purpose of insurance companies is not necessarily to prioritize patient benefit. Instead, they are primarily profit-driven entities. Insurance policies are designed to manage risk and maintain financial solvency, not to ensure all desired treatments are accessible to policyholders.

Coverages vary widely based on the insurance company and the specific policy. QRA Acupuncture™, often considered an alternative or complementary medicine, might not be covered under many standard insurance policies. This is partly due to the fact that such treatments do not always align with traditional western medical practices, which insurance companies typically prioritize.

Therefore, while some patients may find significant relief or health benefits from QRA Acupuncture™, that does not automatically translate to insurance coverage. Always remember to check the specific terms of your insurance policy and consult with your insurance provider to understand what treatments and services are covered. Insurance is a business, and its primary concern is managing financial risk, not necessarily providing the broadest range of treatment options for policyholders.

With that said, we are IN-NETWORK with Aetna, SANA, United Healthcare (UHC), Triwest (Veteran’s Choice). Please call us if you have one of these insurances and we can call to verify if your specific plan covers acupuncture.

We strive to offer the best care and service to our patients, and in pursuit of this, we have decided to operate as an OUT-OF-NETWORK provider with BCBS, Cigna, Humana. These companies often have numerous administrative processes and may not offer the most favorable coverage for patients and reimbursements for providers.

Our commitment to provide an exceptional, 5-star service and help our patients achieve their desired results would be challenged if we decided to go in-network with these insurance companies.

If your priority is to ensure that your insurance covers QRA Acupuncture™, we understand and respect that decision. We can assist you by referring you to an excellent clinic that accepts your insurance.

However, if your goal is to achieve the best possible results for your health concerns and insurance coverage for QRA Acupuncture™ is secondary, then we are the right clinic for you. We focus on individual care plans to attain the best outcomes for our patients, and we would be thrilled to discuss this further with you. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience.
