Food Enzymes

Because it requires you to chew and it stimulates secretion of saliva, which are digestive enzymes that can only form while you are chewing. It mixes in with food while chewing and improves digestion absorption because the breakdown of food progresses smoothly. However, porridge is soft to begin with and gets swallowed easily without being chewed.
Porridge is not digested properly because not enough enzymes mixed in, whereas normal food that is chewed will also digest as well. When you’re sick, let’s not eat bland foods but to eat regular food in order to get your mouth grinding it well. Chewing releases digestive enzymes to absorb the nutrients from our food. We can eat chicken soup but we need to eat the chicken that makes us chew.
