How to Avoid Nausea

Blog
March 27, 2023

Nausea is a feeling of unease or discomfort in the stomach that often precedes vomiting. It can be caused by a variety of factors such as motion sickness, pregnancy, infections, food poisoning, medication side effects, or other underlying medical conditions. Common symptoms of nausea include feeling queasy, lightheadedness, sweating, increased saliva production, and loss of appetite.

To alleviate the symptoms try one of these:

  1. Resting and avoiding physical activity
  2. Drinking clear fluids such as water or ginger tea
  3. Eating small, bland meals such as crackers, toast, or soup
  4. Avoiding foods that are spicy, greasy, or have strong odors
  5. Taking medication such as over-the-counter antacids or anti-nausea medications as prescribed by a doctor

Things you can include in your food:

  • Ginger: Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and can help reduce nausea. Try drinking ginger tea or adding fresh ginger to your meals.
  • Crackers or toast: Eating plain crackers or toast can help absorb stomach acid and settle your stomach.
  • Bananas: Bananas are easy to digest and can provide much-needed nutrients such as potassium.
  • Rice: Plain white rice is a bland food that can be easy to digest and won’t trigger nausea.
  • Chicken broth or soup: Clear soups or broths can provide fluids and electrolytes while also being easy on the stomach.
  • Applesauce: Applesauce is a good source of carbohydrates and can be gentle on the stomach.
  • Peppermint tea: Peppermint tea can help soothe the stomach and reduce nausea.

First Solution for Nausea

Nausea, your middle finger marks the spot. So, do you feel nauseous? regardless of what causes. Indigestion maybe, you’re pregnant or maybe you just don’t feel good, dizzy, whatever you’re just nauseous all the time right?

So, your middle finger, if you just naturally rest it, it hits the palm, right there. This starts the line that you want to start massaging. So, you go straight down, it’s actually the center of your wrist, right? But you can start here and you start massaging all the way down your arm.

All the way down to your arm, you can use your thumb and just really dig in. Remember, it’s the center or the middle line of your arm. This nerve directly corresponds to your stomach and they can help reduce some of that nausea.

It will eliminate 100 or probably not but it can help you get through the day. Maybe, get through your meal and be able to eat. So, you’re going to start from here and you’re going to massage all the way down.
